Craftsmanship
Each piece is created individually. Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the commission and the current queue. Quality always comes before speed.
Dusty works with materials chosen for their beauty, durability, and longevity. The goal is to create objects meant to be worn for decades—not seasons.
Hat bodies are available in several qualities, including 50% Beaver (100X), Pure Beaver (200X), and Beaver Belly (500X), as well as specialty materials such as Chinchilla and Mink. Each has its own character, feel, and performance, and Dusty can help you choose the right material for your Original.
Some specialty and premium materials require additional sourcing time. Availability and lead time will be discussed as part of the commission process.

No. To maintain the level of craftsmanship every Original deserves, only a limited number of commissions are accepted throughout the year.
