And just like that, we are getting ready to close out 2021. It's hard to believe that it's that time of year again! If you are like me, I always look back and say I'm going to eat better, work out more, stay in touch more, write more blogs, call more often, and the list goes on, although this year, I am going to accept that I am one person and what I can do is this. Eat as healthy and work out the same amount of time as now. Find someone to help me with the blog post because I have no more time. I can call more often because I have hands-free technology in the car. I guess what I am saying for me in moving forward for 2022 is I'm going to be more realistic. Yes, I want everyone to be happy. There has to be a reality check as well. We can all only do what we can do. In my business, I am the designer, maker, and finisher. That's the fun part. Then comes the ordering of materials, searching for quality made in the USA materials, social media marketing, computer skills, accounting, janitorial, and the list keeps going. I think you get the idea!
I didn't have a Black Friday sale this year because all of the items I use in the process to make my hats have gone up. I have not raised my prices. Hopefully, I will not have to. My goal is to offer quality at an affordable price. I would love to have everyone in Dusty's Originals!
My retailers have been doing amazing this past year, and I am so thankful for all of them. Please follow them on social media, as the support means everything to small businesses. If you are in the area of these businesses, stop in, see them and shop small.
Adobe Fine Art in the Fort Worth Stockyards
The Belle & Barn Co. in Clayton, Georgia
Classic Rodeo Boutique in Heritage Pointe, Calgary, Alberta
Sparkling Spur Boutique in Mandaree, North Dakota
Paws Up Resort in Greenough, Montana
Jewel of The West in Hill City, South Dakota
I have been very selective about the boutiques to partner. These boutiques have been in business for a long time and are a lifestyle experience.
Some of my wishes for all of us as we move forward into 2022 are happiness, love, peace, health, and the ability to be realistic and kind to ourselves as well.
Thank you for supporting me and my business. I look forward to working for you in 2022!
And just like that, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
