D’s South Dakota Plains
D’s South Dakota Plains draws its inspiration from the hats—and the men—Dusty grew up around. Her fathers, Duane and Raymond, their lifelong friends, and later her brothers and the working cowboys in her life helped shape her connection to Western tradition. Around kitchen tables and through years of stories, adventures, and example, they passed along memories and a strong work ethic that Dusty carries into this design. Dusty translated those influences into a strong Western silhouette with a 5-inch hand-shaped crown and broad 4-inch unbound brim. A chocolate-brown velvet ribbon hatband and individually assembled feather embellishment add understated detail without taking away from the hat’s traditional character. Handmade in Dusty’s Sturgis, South Dakota studio, D’s South Dakota Plains can be commissioned in different fur qualities, colors, hatbands, and finishing details. Each interpretation is individually shaped and finished while retaining the character of the original design.
