Take Me to the Dance Top Hat is a one-of-a-kind piece originally created for a photo shoot. Built from black wool, the hat is transformed by an elaborate arrangement of dark feathers, individually placed by hand to create its dramatic, sculptural character. Costume jewelry adds another layer of texture and theatrical detail, while the predominantly black palette keeps the extravagant embellishment cohesive. This was a singular studio creation rather than a production design and was never intended to be recreated. Handcrafted in Dusty's Sturgis, South Dakota studio, Take Me to the Dance captures the more theatrical side of Dusty's wearable art—bold, expressive, and completely unique.
